At the Barclay Center, Brooklyn, Deontay Wilder and Artur Szpilka have now weighed in for tonight’s main event. WBC Heavyweight champ Wilder came in at a trim 228 pounds in front of Showtime cameras, sporting his familiar athletic, sculpted build, while Polish challenger Szpilka came in at 233 pounds. Spilka’s physique and height may be trumped by Wilder’s, but I’ve a feeling this defense isn’t going to be the walkover it’s expected to be.
Charles Martin and Vyacheslav Glazkov also weighed in for their chief support Heavyweight dustup which will decide the rightful owner of the vacant IBF strap. Martin came in at 249 pounds, while Glazkov came in 30 pounds lighter at 218. These may not be the marquee Heavyweight names fight fans were crying out for, but still, two back-to-back Heavyweight bouts on the same night can’t be all that bad.
Fight fans, what are your Wilder vs Szpilka and Martin vs Glazkov predictions?
