Usually pre-fight theatrics, certainly of the more physical variety, are exclusive to press conferences and weigh-ins. But that hasn’t been the case with WBC champ Deontay Wilder and tomorrow’s challenger Artur Szpilka, as recorded by Showtime cameras. The two recently clashed, going head-to-head (literally), and began staring, shoving and, well, saying a bunch of things you wouldn’t want your mother to hear.
Yeah, it was probably staged. Then again…I’m not so sure since it was incredibly believable. It’s well known that Szpilka is a former football hooligan, after all, so perhaps this kind of thing was right up the Pole’s street? One titbit for you (in case you didn’t already know): if Artur Szpilka defeats Wilder tomorrow he’ll be the first Polish Heavyweight champ ever.
