At the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida, Keith Thurman and Luis Collazo successfully weighed in. WBA Welterweight champ Thurman came in at 146.2 pounds, and the seasoned ex-champion Collazo, 147. Both men looked trim and in fine shape ahead of their clash, with underdog Collazo unfazed by Thurman during the stare-down.
It appears Collazo is still taking the fight game very seriously, which is admirable. The New Yorker could well make this championship bout more competitive than is being widely perceived.
FightHub TV cameras caught all the action at the Thurman vs Collazo weigh-in:
Going in, Thurman is 25-0, 21 knockouts, and Collazo 36-6, 19 knockouts. For what it’s worth, Collazo is the slightly taller fighter here, standing 1.5″ taller at 5′ 9″. Undercard weights included Tony Harrison (153.8 pounds) vs Willie Nelson (154.6), and Edner Cherry (132) vs Luis Cruz (132.8).
