Rising Junior Welterweight star Rances Barthelemy clocked up another big win at the weekend, knocking down Antonio DeMarco en route to a lopsided decision. DeMarco, a former Lightweight champion, isn’t a top 140 pounder by any means, but was still expected to ask more questions of Barthelemy.
As we now know, the Mexican asked next to none, which will make unbeaten Barthelemy a closely-watched fighter as he ascends the division ranks. Barthelemy now stands at 23 wins with 13 knockouts, while DeMarco drops to 35 wins, 5 defeats, 1 draw, 23 knockouts. Read our full Barthelemy vs DeMarco report for more insight.
On the undercard, Sammy Vasquez also got the job done in style, taking home a Unanimous Decision over game opponent Wale Omotoso. The Welterweight clash showcased some eyebrow-raising offensive skills from Vasquez who found himself in a competitive fight. Following the victory, Vasquez improves to 19 wins, no defeats, with 13 knockouts. Omotoso falls to 25 wins, 2 defeats, with 21 knockouts.
PBC/CBS cameras caught all the action from the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas:
