Here it is, folks. The moment of truth for Frank Buglioni is now here – or will be in less than 24 hours, anyway. The popular British Super Middleweight will be taking on Russia’s formidable – yet baby-faced – Fedor Chudinov tomorrow night. Will Buglioni sink, swim, or drown in this extremely tough world title fight?
Buglioni weighed in at 11st, 13lbs, 2oz, and Chudinov 11st, 13lbs, 1oz. Both men looked strong and ready for battle, with Buglioni clearly the taller of the two. Buglioni holds a record of 17 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw, and Chudinov 13 wins, no losses, 10 knockouts.
iFL TV cameras caught all the action:
Chudinov will be making his way to the O2 Arena with the WBA Super Middleweight title in tow, and according to bookmakers, shouldn’t have too much trouble hanging on to it. But we shouldn’t write off ol’ Buglioni just yet. He looked in fine shape on the scales, deeply focused, and carries enough power and skill of his own. It wouldn’t be reaching to describe this as a boxer-puncher pairing, at least.
(But my money’s on Chudinov all night long!)
BoxingBase.com will be providing Live Round by Round Updates of the Boxnation event, and also over at Twitter (@BoxingBase).
What about you, fight fans? Will this be Frank Buglioni’s breakout performance? Or is he just another stepping stone for rising star, Chudinov?
