It shouldn’t really come as a shock that Tyson Fury has made another outspoken remark – well, several – ahead of his collision with Wladimir Klitschko on October 24th. The bout, which will no doubt sell out the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, will see the unbeaten Fury challenge Klitschko for his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles.
And Fury believes the only way to leave Germany with them in tow is to win by knockout. Especially given he’ll be in Klitschko’s backward where the Ukrainian is highly revered and greatly respected.
“Either I get knocked out or he gets knocked out,” Fury told Boxing News. “I need a knockout to win. I ain’t gonna win a decision in Germany anyway, do you really think they’re gonna give me a decision in Germany against a super champion who they love?”
The British Heavyweight, who stands at 6′ 9″, has promised thrills no matter the outcome.
“Win, lose or draw, I’m getting paid a lot of money for this so I’m there to entertain,” he vowed. “I’ll do my best to entertain, I ain’t there to jib and jab around the ring. I’m there to hurt, to draw blood and to put on a good fight.”
And should the referee become a bothersome third man in the ring, Fury knows how to deal with the problem. Apparently. Try not to laugh when you read this…
“I couldn’t give a f***,” Fury said. “I’ll hit him and all.”
Mmm. Maybe it’ll be Fury reading the referee his own instructions before the fight gets underway? Oh, chuckles!
Are your thoughts on Tyson Fury’s chances changing as the fight draws nearer, fight fans? Also, how should the referee best prepare? Nail-studded headgear and shield?
