Shane Mosley Attacks Liam Smith
Socially, I mean. And from overseas stateside. Yes, the aging former Welterweight champ is still gunning for big fights no one wants to see. And it appears newly crowned WBO champ Liam Smith, who drilled worthy opponent John Thompson into the canvas at the weekend, is one of his targets.
Shane Mosley recently began making unprovoked jabs and taunts on Twitter, and it looked kinda…well, desperate. Basically, it all started when Mosley commented that the fight banner for Smith-Thompson looked like a “bad boy band ad”, with Smith responding “didn’t once disrespect you, old man. So don’t start.” From then on, Mosley started goading the young champ for a fight – again, that no one bar Mosley enthusiasts would ever want to see.
Please tell me I’m right about that – cos’ I’m getting a little worried this fight has a chance of actually happening…

Kell Brook Eyeing Bigger Fish After Diego Chaves
The 35-0 IBF Welterweight champ is already looking beyond rugged spoiler Diego Chaves, eyeing bigger game in the form of Amir Khan, Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley.
“You don’t get to 35-0 by being a rubbish fighter,” Brook told Boxing News. “I’m looking to make a legacy in this game and I want the top boys after this fight, the Bradleys the Pacquiaos, the Khans.”
“This [the Chaves fight] is the fight that’s going to really propel me into the massive fights. Doing a job on Chaves will do that for me.”
Getting any those fights is – surprise, surprise – all about business. Chaves is a relatively big draw, but not a household name exactly. Brook will need to put in a dominating performance, and most likely win via knockout. And the man known as ‘Special K’ is more than aware of that fact.
“I’m looking to make a statement, to do what the other fighters haven’t done and stop him [Chaves] before the 10th round. I’m going to have my hands full.”
If you’re a fan of Brook versus any of the above, it would be wise to invest your interest in anyone not named Khan. Because, you know…Brook isn’t called Floyd Mayweather. Or Manny Pacquiao. And most of all, Khan prefers talking about beating Brook rather than actually facing him.
Was that an early Tuesday rant I just got sucked into?
Yes. Yes, it was.
