The statistics are hardly surprising.
Golovkin had huge success with the jab throughout, and was able to pick off Lemieux with ease before scoring the 9th round stoppage. Lemieux is known for being a ferocious hunter in the ring, but of course struggled to get his shots off against ‘GGG’, who deliberately stayed at range to keep his foe off balance, missing the target, and ultimately to be highly ineffective.
