Crawford-Jean Boxing BannerAny minute now, the Crawford-Jean weigh-in will be commencing live from the CenturyLink Center, Omaha. Terence Crawford and Dierry Jean will be stepping onto the scales prior to their WBO Junior Welterweight clash in Top Rank’s headliner scheduled for 12 rounds.

Crawford, our No.2 140-pounder and No.7 Pound-for-Pounder, is of course the hot favorite. But Jean is no slouch in contrast. Crawford may be yet to exhibit major weaknesses during his 26 straight pro career wins, but Jean also knows how to handle himself in the ring. Jean has only been beaten by one of the division’s very best fighters, that man being the versatile boxer-come-banger Lamont Peterson.

How significant this fight will be to boxing and Crawford himself is debatable. Jean is a quality fighter, sure, but however Crawford gets the job done – assuming he does – it will likely come as a mere ripple in the pond. Personally, I see Crawford taking a wide decision on the cards tomorrow night, facing very little problems against the hard-hitting Jean. That said, I don’t envision Jean being overly digraced or taking a heavy beating.

Going in, Crawford holds a record of 26 wins, no losses, with 18 knockouts, while Jean carries 29 wins, 1 loss, with 20 knockouts.

HBO Boxing cameras are at the Crawford-Jean Weigh-In to catch all the action:

What are your thoughts on the Crawford-Jean Weigh-In? And how do you see this Junior Welterweight affair unfolding?

Crawford-Jean will broadcast live on HBO and Boxnation tomorrow night.
