Quite an exciting opener. Algieri looks sharp, elusive, Khan of course the faster man. Khan rocked slightly at end of round by Algieri right-hand. Khan, 10-9.
Round 2
Another eventful round. Algieri really fancies this fight, and is coming forward. But Khan’s speed edges him another round. Khan, 10-9.
Round 3
Algieri applying a lot of pressure, but Khan scores with cleaner, crisper shots. Some head-snapping shots from Khan here. Don’t count out a very spirited Algieri just yet, however. Khan, 10-9.
Round 4
Khan’s combinations win him the round, but the Brit is caught with a fair number of right hands. Khan edges (barely) again. Khan, 10-9. Algieri’s right eye starting to bruise and swell.
Round 5
Algieri has both feet planted well into this fight. He wants it, so big respect to him. Khan outshining his foe again thanks to his cleaner work. Algieri is all over the body. Wise move. Khan, 10-9.
Round 6
Khan boxing off the back foot, and to great success. Khan get’s a minor warning for holding. Khan boxing beautifully, takes round easily. Khan, 10-9.
Round 7
Khan gets nice connecting jabs off, Algieri tries to overpower Khan on the ropes but is turned by Khan who opens up on him. Algieri accidentally cuts Khan with headbutt. Khan, 10-9. Cut doesn’t look too serious.
Round 8
Algieri lands big right-hand in opening seconds! Khan takes it well. Algieri edges round due to landing the harder punches and some nice body attacks before the bell. Algieri, 10-9.
Round 9
Algieri was playing the bully, but the more eye-catching work came from Khan who also landed some heavy shots in the closing seconds. Khan, 10-9.
Round 10
Algieri seems to be tiring, especially following some solid shots from Khan, starting with an uppercut. But Algieri’s heart won’t let him quit. Algieri is tough as hell, but loses round. Khan, 10-9.
Round 11
Algieri has a good round, lands a tasty right-hand, but as is the story for most of the night, Khan again edges the round. The boxer is simply beating the fighter here. Khan, 10-9.
Round 12
Repeat again. Algieri is effective as the aggressor, but is ever so slightly out-worked by the boxer. Khan holds in final 10 seconds, just to ride out the round. Khan, 10-9.
