At the O2 Arena, London, fight fans were treated to a full 90 seconds of action from headliner, Joshua vs Cornish. Joshua dropped his foe with a counter right-hook 30 seconds or so in, and then carefully stalked Cornish after he regained his feet. From that point on, Cornish was a knockout-victim walking, and was swiftly dropped for the second time off a monster left-hook in the corner.
The Scottish fighter, known as ‘The Highlander’, managed to beat the count, but was met by the waving hands of the referee. For Cornish’s part, he did at least catch Joshua with a couple of decent jabs shortly after the bell rung, which Joshua acknowledged post fight.
And so that was it. The fight was over, and Joshua has just put in another monster performance.
Meanwhile, December opponent Dillian Whyte was ringside sh****** himself. Or so we imagine, anyway. Right now, it’s hard to see a bulldozer troubling Joshua, let alone Whyte who didn’t really impress in his mini-battle with blown-up Crusierweight Brian Minto earlier on the undercard.
Joshua now improves to 14 wins, 14 knockouts, while Cornish picks up his first blemish, leaving the arena with 21-1, 12 knockouts. Don’t forget to check out our full Joshua vs Cornish Undercard Report.
