At the KC Lightstream Stadium, Hull, England, Ricky Burns stopped an overmatched Prince Ofotsu in the 5th round of their Lightweight clash.
From the onset, it was all one-way traffic, with Burns’ quality overtly clear. Ofotsu was brave and game throughout, but was unable to trouble the former Lightweight world champ.
Shortly after the 5th round had begun, Ofotsu’s corner threw in the towel. Their fighter wasn’t hurt – and in fact caught the towel – but was in deep with a fighter he just couldn’t compete with.
Burns leaves the ring with a record of 38-5-1, 12 KO, and Ofotsu 15-5, 11 KO. Good performance from Burns – just don’t call it a ‘comeback’ fight.
